Welcome to support local business.
Very friendly staff and all introductions was done by French or English.
We visited Chinon arranged by Sibylline (a new concept company for travel), we had Saturday lunch here and it’s a surprise for us to find such a great new restaurant! Au Local is in front of the Chinon castle, we can see the castle and the vineyard on each side, very simple but elegant deco with the best view. They don’t have a big menu, but every dish in the menu is well designed. From aperitif, starter, main course, dessert to the cute free little cake with coffee, all really fresh and delicious, with simple but complex flavor and présentations. The service is pleasant with considering of the details, and the price is incredibly reasonable! It’s a real surprise to find such a gem. We will always come if we visit Chinon.
Wonderful, simply wonderful! Excellent food served beautifully, with a good selection of local wines. Service was five star from the moment of our arrival. Make sure that you book as we saw many disappointed faces!
Sitting high upon a hill, this is a hidden gem! The three of us selected the "Laissez Vous Surprendre par le Chef" with "Accord mets et vins de notre sommeliere". Each course was beautifully presented, a gastronomical delight, and nicely paired with wine chose by the sommelière. OMG. Every bite, every swirl and splash of sauce was amazing! High compliments to Chef Jo Brisseau, who brought each course to our table himself; and to our sommelière! This is Michelin worthy!
Great farm-to-table spot for "menu formule" before visiting the Chinon fortress ruins and the little town for wine tasting. Welcoming service!
A great meal at a nice spot right beside the Fortress at Chinon. The food was very unique and extremely tasty. We loved all the food including the cheese offering which was more of a very light cheese foam/broth/soup which at first confused us but it was incredibly good and an example of the unique food offerings and I mean unique as a very strong compliment! The servers were also great which is an important part of the experience - our main server had a great sense of humour and he made the night a lot of fun. The food is of high quality and is priced very reasonably. We will definitively return on our next visit to Chinon and I highly recommend it for anyone to try!
A great French dining experience. local creative cuisine served in a beatlutiful setting and at a reasonable price. I would recommend this to any friend or family.
Aspires to fine dining, but disappointing. Complicated compositions of multiple small samples of ingredients. Lengthily explained but not very tasty. The amuse bouches were bland. The vegetarian main course was particularly sparse and unadventurous. Sorry to say
